Teignmouth Film Society: ‘The Keeper’
Once again, we are happy to be hosting Teignmouth film Society for a showing of this epic film.
You don’t have to like football to love this film!
The amazing real-life story of Bert Trautmann, a young German PoW with a talent for football who fell in love with an English girl and ended up playing for Manchester City, even helping them to victory in the 1956 FA Cup.
Despite his talent, Trautmann’s path wasn’t always smooth – not everyone was in favour of having a ‘Nazi’ on their local team! But for local rabbi, Alexander Altman, who stood up for Trautmann, Bert may never have got his big chance….
A heartfelt and heart-warming film!
Doors (and bar!) open at 7pm for an 8pm screening and everyone is welcome. Tickets are only available on the door – so we hope to see you there
