“To stop myself coming apart I make a list of all the things I know….I mean actually know for certain to be true and the really frightening thing is …..It’s a very short list”
Things I Know To Be True (2016) by Andrew Bovall tells the story of a family and marriage through the eyes of four grown siblings struggling to define themselves beyond their parents’ love and expectations. Parents Bob and Fran have worked their fingers to the bone and with their four children grown and ready to fly the nest it might be time to relax and enjoy the roses. But the changing seasons bring home some shattering truths.
The play explores the resilience of an enduring marriage and the evolving nature of a family’s love, as Bob and Fran Price watch their adult children make unexpected decisions that change the course of their lives. Mostly it is about love in many of its forms. At times comforting and supportive. At others suffocating and destructive. But always love.
Things I Know To Be True deals with adult issues and does contain a few moments of language which some may find offensive. Suitable for ages 14+
