A renowned singer-songwriter, who has worked with a host of big names in the music industry, is bringing a live music experience to Dawlish in aid of a local charity. Nick Battle, whose CV includes writing songs for a wide of range of famous artists, will be performing at the town’s Shaftesbury Theatre, alongside some well-known names from the world of folk and easy-listening music.
The show will include sets from Steve Nelson, Nick Battle and folk band ‘Ebb and Flow’ (formerly ‘The Open Road’) and is part of a ‘Songs for Grown Ups’ tour – which explores themes that reflect the ups and downs of life’s journey.
Nick has worked with performers such as Take That, George Benson, Sir Cliff Richard, Ronnie Wood, Clannad, The Spice Girls, Sting, Gary Barlow, Russell Watson, Michael Ball and even Ant & Dec! He is also an accomplished author, speaker, radio presenter and founder of The Gravel Road Trust, which provides support for those battling cancer.
First on stage will be Steve Nelson, best known as a member of ‘The Nelson Brothers’ and ‘Sadie and the Hotheads’. His music draws influences from folk, blues, jazz and Americana. Next Nick will perform songs from his album ‘A Big Heart’. After an interval, Ebb and Flow will round off what promises to be a truly great night of entertainment.
Doors open 6.30pm for reception and drinks and the show begins at 7.30pm.
